I booked a flight/hotel deal with no fuss. The site is well designed, easy to navigate and competitively priced. I usually start my holiday search from there and have used it many times!

A really smooth booking experience with Travel Republic, minimal deposit taken at time of booking and when we had to change the number of nights booked at our Orlando Hotel this was done with no fuss. Thank you Travel Republic for arranging our Orlando Hotel accommodation.

Booked a holiday package (flights and hotel) for me and my family back in January due to fly out in August. When i booked originally in January i made a booking for the package and put down a deposit to secure it. A few days later after running another search on Travel Republic's website for the same package and dates it came out nearly £1k cheaper. So called TR to advise them of this and they were happy to cancel my original booking and re-book me with this cheaper price i had found transferring the deposit i had paid to this new cheaper booking.

Didnt think nothing of it until beginning of July when i paid the remaining balance payment for the hotel booking. A few days later after fully paying the balance i called the hotel directly requesting them to confirm my reservation. They advised me there was no booking confirmation for me on their system. So telephoned TR about this and they assured me all was ok and their 3rd party agent Yalago who was handling the hotel booking only releases names and booking to the hotel about a week before travel. Regardless of this i requested TR to contact Yalago to get them to do an early release of my booking to the hotel so the hotel had it confirmed on their system.

Two weeks went by and didnt hear from TR to confirm if they had done this (also raised online support requests for this too but no response from TR) so called them today (20th July) and after finally getting through to a TR customer service agent i was advised that Yalago had cancelled the hotel booking due to "price manipulation". Apparently because i cancelled my original booking (which under consumer rights i was perfectly entitled to do as it had only been 5 days since i had made the booking and TR themselves allowed me to cancel it and re-book the cheaper deal even transferring the deposit i had paid to the new cheaper booking), as this new package was around £1k cheaper a few days later, Yalago considered this to be "price manipulation" and had cancelled the hotel booking. The concerning thing here is if i didn't bother to get confirmation from the hotel about my booking none of this would have come to light and i would have turned up to the hotel only to be told i have no reservation. Travel Republic did not communicate or make me aware of this at all.

TR allowed me to cancel my original booking and re-book the cheaper package without informing me this would be construed as "price manipulation" by their 3rd party agent Yalago resulting in the hotel booking being cancelled.

So now I'm left in the situation where I have less than 4 weeks to go to my holiday to Dubai with no hotel reservation due to the incompetence and shambolic process by TR and their 3rd party agent Yalago and will have to pay last minute hotel prices which will be significantly higher than the price with TR. Also left with the arduous task of getting a refund of the money i paid for the accommodation booking from TR.

I would urge anyone using TR to book a holiday to exercise extreme caution and avoid them due to their incompetence in managing a holiday booking. Never going to use TR again and will be advising friends and family not to use them.
